Caring for Wood Shutters, Wood Blinds and Faux Wood

Wood shutters and blinds should be cared for in the same manner as a quality piece of furniture.

Regular dusting with a feather duster, soft cloth or chamois will keep your shutters and blinds looking new.

They may also be cleaned by a hand-held vacuum with a brush attachment using low suction.

Stained wood blinds should be treated periodically with lemon oil or other wood preservative to protect their finish.

DO NOT damp clean blinds or shutters; the water could damage their surface appearance.

Ultrasonic cleaning IS NOT recommended for wood blinds or shutters.

Use Care When Cleaning the Window . . . When cleaning any window, spray glass cleaner on a cloth rather than spraying directly on the window. This will prevent damage to the wood finish by splattering cleaner.

Follow Manufacturer Advice . . . It is best to use the products and procedures recommended by the manufacturer for cleaning your shutters.
